Why ''Kinga Daniel'' Could Soon Join The List Of Kikuyu Benga Music Stars
You might not have heard about him nor listened to his music works. Though not the famous kind, the man 'Kinga Daniel' is a big talent as far as kikuyu benga music is concerned. Gradually taking the shape of his mentor and former boss, the lateJohn Demathew, Kinga Daniel's songs are deeply authentic with mature content that addresses morality and the issues of day to day life. Little is known about him, but he hails from Ithanga in lower Gatanga region and was once an employee of the late legend John Demathew some years back.
''Demathew nurtured and mentored me in a great way. He would listen to my raw compositions which I dubbed on a cassette and get back to me with encouragement and advise. He was so fatherly to me'', Kinga Daniel said recently in an interview with a local media station.
He was at that time working in Demathew's first music store then located in 'Maina Clothing Building' at River road. Kinga would then leave to pursue other interests but still had the music seed growing in him. He has now resurfaced to get his dream come to life. When we visited his YOUTUBE CHANNEL, we were amazed to find earlier gospel music tracks dated about 3years ago which shows that he has been on the scene longer than we thought.
The latest three consecutive releases are clean benga secular works that display his prowess in composition with notable Demathew taste especially in the songs 'GAKENERO' and 'TUHE NGAI GIAKE'. His latest song is titled 'CIRINGI YAKWA' which talks about financial discipline. Below is a video containing a mix compilation of his top songs
